This course spans over eight 10-hour days. The day begins at 8am and ends at 6:30pm. The purpose of this 80 hour initial certification course is to familiarize the learner with start-up and operational regulations for an RCFE. The learner will...

√ Become familiar with the psychosocial needs of the residents living in a RCFE and understand their individual needs.

√ Engage in interactive experiences focused on the regulatory requirements specific to a RCFE

√ Understand how to create a positive environment for those living in a RCFE with focus on those living with Dementia.

This course is required to enable the participant to request to take the state exam to become a Residential Care Facility Administrator for the Elderly.

Please note, a digital version of the RCFE Manual of Policies and Procedures will be emailed to each course participant. We do highly suggest getting the hard copy version so you will have it in-person when you take the assessment.   Manuals can be purchased online from us to be sent to your mailing address.

Late policy

If a student is less than 30 minutes late for the start of the class on day one, then the student may make up the 30 minutes after the class with the instructor. If a student is returning more than 10 minutes late from breaks or lunch, they will need to repeat the day in another ICTP course corresponding with the same day that time was missed. If a student misses a day of the course, the student has 90 days to make up that particular day, otherwise they will need to repeat the course in its entirety.
