The purpose of this 35-hour initial certification course is to familiarize the learner with start-up and operational regulations for an Adult Residential Facility (ARF). The learner will
√ Become familiar with the psychosocial needs of the residents living in an ARF and understand their individual needs.
√ Engage in interactive experiences focused on the regulatory requirements specific to an ARF and how to create a positive environment for those living in an ARF.
This course is required to enable the participant to request to take the state exam to become an Adult Residential Facility Administrator.
Class hours are from 8:00am to 6:30pm. Day 4 ends at 1:30pm.
Late policy
If a student is less than 30 minutes late for the start of the class on day one, then the student may make up the 30 minutes after the class with the instructor. If a student is returning more than 10 minutes late from breaks or lunch, they will need to repeat the day in another ICTP course corresponding with the same day that time was missed. If a student misses a day of the course, the student has 90 days to make up that particular day, otherwise they will need to repeat the course in its entirety.
Please note, a digital version of the ARF Manual of Policies and Procedures will be provided for each participant. Although, we recommend getting the hard copy version so you will have it in person when you take the assessment. Manuals can be purchased online from us to be sent to your mailing address.
